The last news post was a year ago, so here's a fresh one :)
Welcome to sfnanos.org, the official unofficial home of the SFNANOS. NaNoWriMo 2008 has begun, and it's time to crank out those 1667 words a day for another month of literary excellence (or at least literary productivity).
Your MLs, Rob and Shannon, are here behind the scenes and will be coming out from backstage soon. We're here for you in our absence too though. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, or need a plot ninja, send us an email (sfnanos@gmail.com), post here or on nanowrimo.org forums, or show up to a write-in (see http://tinyurl.com/sfnanos-calendar).
Hey folks,
I'll announce this on the main site soon, and some of you may have seen it in her badges on the forums, but congratulations and condolences are in order for calendula, who has volunteered to be co-ML this year. You'll find her as calendula-witch over on the main site, or as Shannon out in the less electronic world.
Shannon is going to help me motivate you to get to the finish line whether it's tomorrow or the 30th at 11:47pm local time. She's been an active regular in the San Francisco group for the past year and has done an excellent job of making it through her first NaNo novel, so I'm hoping that between my words and her actions, you'll see the path clearly.
I'm not sure what else to write. Saving some words for the novel. Watch for her at some of the write-ins and on the forums, and don't be surprised if your emails to san_francisco_ca at nanowrimo get answered by her instead of me.
Update on sfnanos.org donations and expenses:
2007/10/07: The web hosting is currently paid through March 2008, and the domain registration through November 2008.
I'm happy to keep the sfnanos domain and website going as long as donations keep up with expenses. Hosting costs $4/month, and the domain name is usually $8-10/year. You can send a donation via paypal to donate@sfnanos.org or slip me cash under the table at an event or the retreat. :)

Anyone interested in sponsoring sfnanos.org is welcome to do so. Note that this is just supporting the operation of the website ($4/mo) and the domain name ($6+/year). It's not paying salaries for Kenne and myself, or going for other expenses.
You can sponsor sfnanos.org hosting by sending a $4.25 paypal payment to "donate@sfnanos.org" or by handing me $4 at an event. You can be acknowledged by name or remain anonymous. Checks are also accepted by mail or in person.
This is completely optional. It is not tax-deductible, though.
See accounting in the extended article. (Click on "Read More..." below, if it shows there)
